Ganit Prajna Samvardhan, 2020

Ganit Prajna Samvardhan, an appreciation program for the achievers and qualifiers of GPP, 2020, was held in VKV Dibrugarh on 6thFebruary, 2021, in Sanskriti Sabhagriha. 96 students from Classes VI to IX attended the program. Associate Professor Priyadev Goswami, Dept. of Mathematics, DHSK Kanoi College, Dibrugarh, graced the program as the Chief Guest. Vice Principals of VKV Dibrugarh, Sri R.M.Thakre and Sri Shasanka Roy welcomed the guest. 

The Chief Guest in his speech highlighted the importance of Mathematics as a subject at school level. He said, students are taught to deal with numbers at school level which is necessary to achieve good understanding about Maths with logical derivation techniques at higher level. He also mentioned that Maths can change the course of human beings and geometry is a tool to handle and manage life in a better way, which enables man to see the beauty in everything. 

He then congratulated and felicitated all the rank holders and appreciated their performance. Two students from Class IX, Kum. Jyotishka P. Lahkar and Kr. Ayush Jatukarna shared their experience and their success story as rank holders of GPP. They shared how they improved their performance by religiously practicing Maths on a day-to-day basis and by taking help from their peers and teachers overcame the fear of Maths.

Janmasthami Celebration
 24th August, 2019

In order to celebrate the birthday of Lord Krishna, Janmasthami celebration was organized in our Vidyalaya premises on 24th August, 2019. The birthday of Lord Krishna was celebrated with great devotion and enthusiasm on this day. Beautiful decorations were put up to make the event more cheerful and colourful. A splendid program was organized by the children and the staff of the Vidyalaya, where students presented lokageet, bhajans, sur samalay and a short skit on “Sishu Krishna”. 


The students enthusiastically enacted the skit and the audience cheered and rocked with laughter. Our Vice Principal Sir, Sri R. M. Thakre welcomed the Chief Guest, parents and students on the occasion. An awareness on Janmasthami, the mythological stories on Krishna, Radha, Kansa were narrated along with the significance of the day by our Hon. Chief Guest Dr. Mousumi Dutta, Prof., Dept. of Assamese, Dibru College, Dibrugarh. Dr. Kunjalata Deori, Retired Professor & Head of Applied Physics, Delhi College of Engineering was also present to grace the programme. 

The students came in colourful traditional dresses and participated in Rangoli competition, Art competition, Story Telling competition and Bhajan competition. 7 groups participated in Rangoli completion from Classes VI to XI, where students created colourfully decorated rangoli on the theme of Krishna. 

The students gave their best performances. The program ended with vote of thanks by Vice Principal Sir. This holy occasion brings people together thus signifying unity and faith. A total of 500 students and 300 parents approximately attended the program.

Ganit Prajna Pariksha Samvardhan 

5thJanuary, 2018 

On 5th January, 2018, Ganit Prajna Pariksha Samvardhan, 2017 was organized for Class VI, VII, VIII. It started from 12:10 pm and continued till 1:45 pm. The programme started with Mangalacharan. Sri Shashanka Sir gave the welcome address. The Principal, Sri Ravindranath D. Savdeykar welcomed the Chief Guest Dr. Priya Dev Goswami, Associate Professor, Dept. of Mathematics, DHSK College, Dibrugarh with Phulam Gamusa as a token of love. 


Two of the students of Class VII have shared their experience of their participation in GPP Samvardhan which was organized at VKIC, Guwahati on 1stto 3rd September, 2017. Respected Dr. Priya Dev Goswami has interacted with the students and gave his valuable speech on application of Mathematics on day to day life. The programme was very informative and it helped our student to know about the importance of Mathematics. The Principal of the Vidyalaya, Sri Shashanka Sir and respected Chief Guest distributed the prizes and the certificates to the meritous students. The programme ended with Shantimantra.

Awareness Programme on Eye Care 

21st December, 2017 



An Awareness Programme on Eye Care for the students of Class X was organized by Rotary Club, Dibrugarh on 21stDecember, 2017 in our Vidyalaya. Speaker Dr. Indira Neog, Eye Specialist, Assam Medical College, Dibrugarh interacted with the students. She discussed the Basic Anatomy of the Human eye, 15 tips to take care of the eye, common problems related to Eye – Cornea and Lens, Cataract, Myopia, Hypermetropia and Presbiopia, maintenance of health and hygiene of the eye etc. The interaction was very informative for the students. The programme ended with Shanti Mantra.

CAREER COUNSELLING PROGRAMME ON 1st November 2014

CAREER COUNSELLING PROGRAMME
A career counseling programme was organized by Dibrugarh Branch of The Institute of Chartered Accountant of India in our school at 11:30 a.m on 1st November 2014. It was first of its kind in the Dibrugarh district. The resource persons were CA Parvin Jain, CA Shailendra Sharma, CA Pranjal Goswami and Ca Ankit Varma. The students of class 11 and 12 of science and commerce attended the workshop. The programme ended at  1:30 p.m. The resource persons highlighted the necessity of choosing a career in life to be successful and Chartered Accountancy is a dynamic and promising for students not only for commerce students but even students from science background.

The Vidyalaya observed 14th November, Children’s Day amidst various colourful programmes. The programme started at 10:30 a.m. with Mangalachran. Students of class K.G performed an action song, followed by a speech by Sushmita Dasgupta of class V. A Bihu dance was performed by a group of young minds belonging to primary section of the Vidyalaya. A group of teachers presented a group song entitled ‘Asom amar rupohi’. A 
creative dance by the boys of class IV enthralled the audience. This was followed by another action song based on the most popular song ‘ Yug nirmata hum bache’. The Principal of the School, Shri Ravindranath D. Savdeykar, in his speech said how Nehruji propelled India towards technology and Scientific development and also referred about Bal Swachata Mission which was effected from 14th November, 2014 to 19thNovember, 2014 in the school. This was followed by a group song by girls of class IV, ‘Aai deu re’. The programme concluded with a group dance performed by the girls of IV and V.

The 150th Birth Centenary of Sahityarathi Lakhinath Bezbaruah

The 150th Birth Centenary of Sahityarathi Lakhinath Bezbaruah was organized by Sanskar Bharati on 18th November, 2014 in V.K.V Dibrugarh premises. Other schools participated in the celebration were Saraswati Shishu Mandir, Sampoorna Kendra Vidyalaya and Shankardev Shishu Niketan. The programme started with mangalacharan and lighting of diya by the principal of the school, Shri Ravindranath  D. Savdeykar. The programme was followed by songs performed by Students of Shankardev Shishu Niketan and Saraswati Shishu Mandir. A speech was delivered by Aniruddha Dutta. His speech mainly centered round the rich cultural heritage of our country. The programme concluded with Vote of Thanks by principal of the host school, Shri Ravindranath D. Savdeykar.  A total of 510 students,

teachers and well-wishers participated in the programme; S.KV (13), S.S.N (150), S.S.M (147) and V.K.V (200).

Universal Brotherhood Day-2014

Universal Brotherhood day was celebrated in Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Dibrugarh on 11th September 2014, to commemorate the world famous speech delivered by Swami Vivekananda on 11th September 1893, at Chicago in The World Parliament of Religions. The programme started with Mangalacharan followed by welcome speech by the Principal of the school, Sri Ravindranath D. Savdeykar. It was followed by a Patriotic Song performed by the students of Class VI to IX which was followed by the Mock speech of Swami Vivekananda which he had addressed in the famous World Parliament of Religion in 1893.

The programme was graced by the Principal of DHSK Commerce College, Dibrugarh, Dr. Khanindra Mishra Bhagawati as the Chief Guest highlighted that the idea behind celebrating the function was to spread the message of Universal Brotherhood. He also reiterated that Universal Brotherhood which Swamiji suggested in 1893 is even relevant even today. Dr. Meenakshi Barve, Retd. Director School of Education, YCMO university Nasik was present in the occasion  as Guest of Honour.

She highlighted the importance of youth in Man Making and Nation Building by saying that one should bear the responsibility of the work he or she has done. Dashavtaar Nritya, Patriotic Song, Jhumur Nritya, Creative Dance and Surya Namaskar were the highlight of the programme. Smt. Hironmoyee Das,  in-charge of the Primary section delivered the Vote of Thanks. The programme concluded with Shanti Mantra.

JANMASTAMI CELEBRATION AT VKV, DIBRUGARH

Janmastami was celebrated with great enthusiasm at Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Dibrugarh on Monday 18th August ,2014 beginning with the Welcome address and stating the purpose of the celebration by the Principal of the school, Shri Ravindrath Savdeykar Ji. The Significance of the celebration was narrated by one of the teacher of the school, Smt. Rita Dowerah. Kumari Swastika Sharma, a student of the school performed a Bhajan on the Lyrics ‘Shyam Rang Ranga De’. A Dance Drama ‘Bakrasura Badh’ depicting events from Krishna’s life was also performed by the students of the school .

A melodious and mind - pleasing  ‘Janmastami Naam’ and ‘Nagara Naam’ were hummed by the middle school students.

The toddlers  presented a fabulous and outstanding creative performance on the song ‘Krishna Tumhari’ and ‘Gopala Gopala’. Students also performed Krishna Bhajan. The programme concluded with Shanti Mantra and Kendra Parthana.

Independence Day -2014

Attending Jana Gana Mana 
On August 15, the 68th Independence Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm in our school. At 8 am, we all assembled in the Assembly hall and the flag was hoisted by our honourable Principal, followed by National Anthem and Principal’s inspiring speech. Patriotic Song  ’Jai Jai Bharat’ and Action Song were performed by our students.

Then, the March Past and thundering “ Band Display” (by our students) followed the programme. The Programme ended with the Vote of Thanks By Vice Principal. A large gathering of parents was there on the occasion.

Teacher Orientation Camp

A Teacher Orientation Camp(Subject - Mathematics) organized by Vivekananda Kendra Siksha Prasar Vibhag (VKSPV) at VKV Dibrugarh from 2nd  August to 4th August, 2014.

Nearly 42 Participants from different VKV’s joined and enthusiastically completed the camp under the guidance of Sri P.K. Chaurasia, one of the NCERT academician. Another resource person Sri Vasant Barve, Retired Principal of Pune Engineering College also was with us to train the participants on GeoGebra , a software which is a combination of Geometry and Algebra.

A day before Raksha Bandhan i.e. on 9th August 2014, our school students celebrated Raksha Bandhan by tying rakhi to various people. Teachers along with students went to different places like Hospitals, Medical college , Banks, Ashrams etc.

RakshaBandhan was observed in the school in the morning assembly on 11th August 2014. Students tied rakhi each other to strengthen the bond of sharing and caring between brothers and sisters. The Principal of the school spoke on the occasion emphasizing the importance of the festival, how it is celebrated since 4000 years . He also highlighted the fact that  Raksha bandhan is celebrated all over India in the same tradition since ages.

AISSCE RESULT 2014


Students of Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya Dibrugarh has performed outstanding in the AISSCE, 2014. The school was able to record 100% results in Science this year with 20 students passing the examination with a record of 94.6% as the highest percentage this year. The subject wise highest percentage secured by our students - In English 95%, Physics 92%, Chemistry 99%, Maths 95%, Biology 93% and Computer Science 96%. In Commerce,34 students appeared where the highest percentage is marked 94.8%.  The subject wise highest percentage secured by our students - In English 95%, Accountancy 95%, Business Studies 95%, Economics 97%, Mathematics 95% and Informatics Practices 95%.The Principal, Sri Ravindranath D. Savdeykar has expressed great pleasure and satisfaction over the repeated good results of the school. He extended his gratitude to the whole teaching staff of the school, the students as the guardians for understanding sincere efforts to keep the honour of the old prestigious school intact.

Celebrating the 150th Birth Anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, Ramakrishna Mission Laitumkhrah Shilong, introduced ‘Value education’ in different standards in different schools in the last academic session(2013-2014).Our School , VKV Dibrugarh has got the opportunity to conduct Value Education class in sixth standard(in both sections).
