WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY AT VKV DIBRUGARH

World Environment Day was observed on 5th June, 2019 in our Vidyalaya premises along with 25 nos. of NCC cadets. The students planted saplings in the Vidyalaya campus for a clean and green environment. The students participated actively and with full enthusiasm.


In occasion of World Environment Day was an Art Competition was  organized by Division Forest Office, Dibrugarh district. Two students of our Vidyalaya, Kum. Debosree Sarkar (class VII) bagged 1st prize and Kr. Manash Singh (class VI) bagged 2ndprize.


World Environment Day (6th June, 2019): On 6thJune, 2019 World Environment day was observed in VKV Dibrugarh. A brief programme was held to mark the day. One of our teacher Smt. Deepa Bora gave a speech highlighting the importance of the day. A speech on the significance of the day was given by a student of Class V. Group song was performed by the students of Classes III to V and a creative dance performance by the students of classes KG, I & II.


Later in the day the students of classes III to V took part in the Art Competition while the students from VI to X participated in Poster making completion organized by the school to mark the day.
Students of Class V handmade environmentally friendly dustbins to be installed at various places in the school campus with a drive to keep surroundings clean.
Our students were highly motivated and driven towards the goal of maintaining a clean and green environment.

Vyaktitva Vikas Shibir (PDC) for Class VI

28th May to 1st June, 2019


Vyaktitva Vikas Shibir (PDC) started from 28th May to 1st June, 2019 for the students of Class VI (2019-20) in our Vidyalaya in which trainings were given to the students on YogaAbhyas, chanting Slokas, Geet abhyas etc. “Boudhik Satras” were conducted for the students, in this satra Guests are invited to take sessions for the students.  Su. Aparna Didi, Secretary, VKVAPT took session with an interesting and motivational story of ‘the Lion and the Goat’ and explained the moral of the story. She narrated another story of ‘the Proudy Saint’, through this story she conveyed the message that whatever task is assigned to us we should do it sincerely and never to do or think ill of others. She also interacted with the students and asked few questions where students participated actively. She also shared stories of Swamiji.


Sri Ravindranat D. Savdeykar, Principal, VKV Dibrugarh took session on “Samskar Varga our duty”, Sri R. M. Thakre, Vice Principal, VKV Dibrugarh took sessions on “Leadership Qualities”, Smt. Manisha G. Saikia, Counselor, VKV Dibrugarh took her session on “Swacchata hi Sewa”, Sri Shasanka Roy, Vice Principal, VKV dibrugarh took session on “Vivekananda Shila Smarak our Rastriya Gaurav”, Smt. Rajkumari Sharma, teacher of VKV Dibrugarh took her session on ''Bharatiya Sanskriti'', Sri Biren Saikia, teacher, VKV  Dibrugarh took session on “Sanskar Varga”.Other session for students were on Introduction of Swamiji, Swamiji represented our country globally, Qualities of Swamiji : courageous, patriotic, humanity, brevity etc., Mentioned various inspiring stories of Vivekananda : ghost in the mango tree, story of snake etc, Swamiji’s own experiences.


Valedictory programme was organized on 1st June, 2019 where the Parents of the Class VI students were invited. The programme started with manglacharanam, ekya mantra, sibir geet by the participants. Dr. Saikat Patra, General Medicine Doctor of Dibrugarh was the chief guest of the programme. Introduction of the chief guest and speech as well as words of motivation by our respected chief guest. Yoga demonstration, patriotic song, bhajan and two short skits from Swamiji’s life incidents were performed by the students. Experience sharing by the participants as well as by the parents was also the part of the programme. The programme was very successful and each & every student participated in the activities of valedictory programme actively. Valedictory programme concluded with a speech and “giving vote of thanks”. Total participants were 63.

Felicitation of Class X & XII 

24thMay, 2019

A felicitation programme was organized at the Vidyalaya on 24th May, 2019 to encourage the achievers of Class X & XII Board Candidates, session 2018 -19, who scored more than 90% and also the subject toppers. 


The programme was graced by Dr. Surajit Borkotokey, HOD, Dept. of Mathematics, Dibrugarh University and Dr. Srithidhar Dutta, Chairman, VMC, VKV Dibrugarh. 31 achievers in total were felicitated in the brief programme which was also attended by parents, well wishers of the Vidyalaya along with students of Class IX to XII and teachers.

A parent shared her feelings of profound joy at the achievements of the school and expressed her gratefulness towards the school administrations. Guest, Dr. Borkotokey blessed the students and shared that his reason for attending was to see the prospects in the enthusiastic face of the achievers. 

He also congratulated parents and advised students to maintain their values which they have learnt from the school throughout their school life. Dr. Dutta advised students to have a balanced personality, acquiring sound knowledge of subjects, maintaining consistency in their efforts for a bigger goal of life.

Three days Career Counseling Programme 

20thto 22nd May, 2019

Three days Career Counseling cum workshop was organized in the Vidyalaya from 20th to 22ndMay, 2019 for the students Class XI beginners. The workshop was attended by 150 students of three streams viz. Science, Commerce and Arts. The resource person of the programme was Sri Gautam Borthakur, Asstt. Professor, Dept. of Computer Science, Dibrugarh University, Alumni 2002, also a representative of an online career counseling platform “Xomidhan.org”.


He encouraged the students to love their subjects as well as teachers which will help them to achieve their goals. He also introduced different carrer oppurtunities to them. He also inspired them with different stories and case studies which will inspire them to take future decisions wisely. A fresh student of science said “We are thankful to the Principal and teachers for providing us with such opportunities in the beginning. It is a good kick start”.

“Scholastic Book Fair” 
6th May to 8th May, 2019
At Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya Dibrugarh  
VKV Dibrugarh held a book fair, organized by 'Scholastic' at the behest of Principal Sri Ravindranath D. Savdeykar from 6th to 8th May, 2018 in the school. It saw an overwhelming response from students and parents. A wide range of books from all disciplines of education was displayed, and fiction saw the greatest takers.

Varsarambha Ceremony 
23rd April, 2019 

The Varsarambha ceremony for the session 2019-2020 started with a naamkirtan on 23rd April, 2017 in the Vidyalaya premise. Elaborate arrangements have been made to observe the kirtan in a grand way. The traditional naamkirtan is observed here every year on the first day of the session to have a auspicious beginning. 

The kirtan began at 10:45 am and ended at 1:30 pm. This ritual is traditionally observed with religious enthusiasm by the teachers, students and non teaching staff for the well being of the school and good academic performance of the students. 

9 Bhakats along with one of our teacher Sri Manik Chandra Bora graced the kirtan. Approximately 823 students were present in the programme.

Matri Puja 
19th February, 2019 

Matri Puja was organized in the Vidyalaya on 19th February, 2019. 66 mothers were present along with their children. The programme started at 9 am at the Sanskriti Sabagriha under the strict guidance of Sri Krishna Kumar ji, VKVAPT. In his speech, Sri Krishna Kumar ji said that the Matri Puja should be considered as an expression of love and respect to the mother who not only gave birth to them but have been supportive throughout. At the same time, he focused on the importance of inculcating values like Matri Devo Bhavo, Pitro Deva Bhavo, Guru Devo Bhavo and Rastra Devo Bhava etc.
The Puja was done with full of devotion in the traditional manner which continued for almost an hour. Krishna Kumar ji not only chanted the Puja mantras, he also literally translated and interpreted them in English as well as hindi.

Saraswati Puja 

10th February, 2019

Goddess Saraswati is worshipped for inspiration to do excel in the field of literature, music, arts, maths and sciences. All institutes and organizations associated with education celebrate and observe Saraswati Puja or Basant Panchami.

Keeping the tradition alive our Vidyalaya celebrated Basant Panchami with fervour on February 10th, 2019. Basant Panchami is an occasion which also marks the onset of the spring season. It is also celebrated to worship Goddess Saraswati, the symbol of knowledge and wisdom. Sri R.M.Thakre, Vice Principal, VKV Dibrugarh along with the teachers of our Vidyalaya paid floral obeisance to the idol of Goddess Saraswati. 


Parents also attended the puja led by a learned pandit in the school premises, all the students prayed to Ma. Saraswati, goddess of knowledge, seeking blessings by chanting Saraswati Vandana and Bhajan to mark the occasion, the assembly hall was well decorated with flowers which brought life to the puja celebration. Khichdi delicacies were served as Prasad among the devotees.

70thRepublic Day

26th January, 2019 
The fervour of freedom, the 26th January was celebrated on the nostalgic occasion of this red letter day in our Vidyalaya. The school band accompanied Principal Sir to the school ground where he unfurled the tricolour amidst a resplendent crowd of teachers, students and parents. With great pride the entire crowd sang the national anthem which reneberated everyone with the feelings of patriotism. It was followed by an inspiring speech by him in which he highlighted that we all should contribute to the nation in one way or the other as the nation doesn’t only belong to anyone king or higher authority but to each one of us residing here. After which a host of cultural events followed which included action song by students of class KG & I, patriotic song by class II to V students etc. The power and energy exhibited by the students was befitting to the occasion and arched their commitment and deduction and assured of a brighter future ahead. This was followed by house wise speech competition and patriotic song competition. The completions were judged by Smt. Jyotsna Didi and Smt. Mala Didi. Finally, the celebration was concluded with Vote of Thanks followed by Shanti Mantra. Total no. of parents and well wishers were 93 and students 195 attended the programme.

Vivekananda Jayanti Celebration
11th January, 2019: On the occasion of Vivekananda Jayanti, an interactuion cum question answer session was organized in the Vidyalaya premises. Man. Bhanudasji, the General Secretary, Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari addressed the audience as speaker. In his address “Swami Vivekananda – a role model for youth”, Man. Bhanudasji narrated some of the incidents from the life of Swamiji. He encouraged introspection, as a way of remodeling oneself. He also stressed the importance of living a virtous life. He also directed the students to adopt Swamiji, as a model in their life and emphasized on the need to adopt the practice “Yoga” for a healthy body and the faith in “mantras, bhajans and chantings” for a peaceful and calm mind. The programme was also attended by Dr. Sristidhar Dutta, Dr. Kunjalata Deori and Sri Supratik Sinha along with parents, students and teachers.




12th January, 2019: A day long programme was organized on 12thJanuary, 2019 to celebrate Vivekananda Jayanti and Annual Day. A Pushpanjali programme was arranged in the early hours at different places to mark the day. Students, teachers and well wishers attended the programme to pay respect to the great soul – Swami Vivekananda. Dr. Aditi Baruah, Associate Professor, Department of Sanskrit, Dibru College, Dibrugarh was the Chief Guest and Sri Dibakar Nath, IAS, Assistant Commissioner – Dibrugarh with Assam Secretariat was the Guest of Honour.   
 
Sri R. M. Thakre, Vice Principal, VKV Dibrugarh delivered the welcome speech. The gamut of celebration activities programmes included group songs, recitation, mime, bharat natyam and lot more reflecting moral and cultural values. The celebration was attended by a jam packed audience of parents, teachers and well wishers.

Annual Sports Meet, 2018-19
 (2nd to 5th January, 2019) 
The Annual Sports programme was organised in our Vidyalaya from 2nd to 5thJanuary, 2019 at 9:30 am where the Chief Guest Dr. Sristidhar Dutta, Chairman, VMC, Dibrugarh accompanied by the Principal, Sri Ravindranath D. Savdeykar inaugurated the programme by hoisting the school flag. Principal Sir addressed the crowd and welcomed them. He also wished good luck to all the participants and the programme started. The best boy and best girl athlete of last year Kr. Lakhyajit Dowerah and Kum. Sneha Das ran the field with the torch (Krida Jyoti) as a mark to symbolise the light of spirit, knowledge and life. The four house leaders of Rani Lakshmi Bai, Veer Lachit, Rana Pratap and Kanaklata took the oath and march past the school ground with their respective houses. This was followed by a series of events which included a drill by the students of Class IV and V, a short demonstration of Martial Arts stances and a series of Yoga asanas showing different formations like lotus flower, tower, pyramid by the students of Class III to IX. The Chief Guest thereafter gave a speech in which he appreciated the schools involvement in the programme. He also highlighted the importance of holding sports events in schools for the overall development of the students and motivated and encouraged them to give their best performance. All activities were held class wise at the junior and senior level. Activities included in junior level were Spoon and Marble race, Biscuit Race, 100m and 50m race, frog jump, Mathematics Race etc. For senior level was Long Jump, High Jump, 100m Race, Kho-Kho, Kabaddi, Badminton etc. All the students participated with full enthusiasm. Kr. Priyam Phukan of Class VII was the Best Boy and Kum. Sneha Das of Class IX was the Best Girl. The Best House was Rani Lakshmibai House of the session (2018-19). After the prize distribution on the final day with a short closing ceremony the Sports Meet ended.

Ganit Prajna Samvardhan, 2018 
(31stDecember, 2018)

 Ganit Prajna Samvardhan, an appreciation and exposure programme for promoting mathematics learning was organized in our Vidyalaya for the achievers of Ganit Prajna Pariksha held at VKSPV on 17thFebruary, 2018. Principal, Sri Ravindranath D. Savdeykar introduced and welcomed the Chief Guest, Dr. Gopal Ch. Hazarika, Professor of Mathematics Dept., Dibrugarh University. Out of 62 students from all VKVs, 21 students of VKV Dibrugarh were the achievers at VKSPV level. The qualified toppers were felicitated by the chief guest. Kum. Ankita Kumari (Class IX), Kr. Kaushik Dey (Class VIII) and Kum. Saanvi Sahu (Class VII) shared the experience of GPP. Parents, Sri Anil Kr. Tiwari and Smt. Angella Gogoi shared how important it was to conduct such exams in order to promote Mathematics learning in schools. They also expressed their happiness that such exams created interest for Maths in those who showed their aversion towards the subject earlier. Dr. Gopal Ch. Hazarika, chief guest, congratulated the toppers and appreciated their performance. Sri R. M. Thakre, Vice Principal ended with the Vote of Thanks followed by Shantimantra.

Gita Jnana Yajna Zone Level 
(23rd December, 2018)

 Zone Level Gita Chanting Competition, 2018 was conducted at VKV Dibrugarh organized by VKSPV, Guwahati on 23rdDecember, 2018. Sri Krishna Kumar ji, VKVAPT, Su. Rebati Didi, Joint Secretary, VKSPV, Ghy, Sri B. Kamalakant Sir, Domain Officer (Academic Co-ordinator), VKSPV, Guwahati and Su. Meera Didi, Assam Prant Sanghatak, VK Assam graced the programme with their presence. A total of 6 VKVs (VKV, NEEPCO, Bokuloni, VKV Baragolai, VKV Sadiya, VKV Tinsukia, VKV Tingrai, VKV Dibrugarh) participated in the competition. Competition was conducted group wise.  The Judges of the programme were Sri Krishna Kumar ji, Dr. Aditi Baruah, Professor, Dept. of Sanskrit, Dibru College and Smt. Modhumita Goswami Borthakur, HOD, Dept. of Sanskrit, Dibru College. Vice Principal, Sri R. M. Thakre, VKV Dibrugarh welcomed all the participants, teachers and invitees present. The judges were introduced and felicitated by our teachers Smt. Niti Bhattacharjee, Smt. Rita Dowerah and Smt. Pranamika Bordoloi. Su. Rebati Didi explained the importance of Gita in our daily life. Sri Krishna Kumar ji also explained the importance of Gita chanting and slokas with its meaning. Smt. Pranamika Bordoloi and Sri Biren Saikia, teacher, VKV Dibrugarh also chanted Gita slokas and explained their meaning to keep the spirit of the competition alive. The judge Dr. Aditi Baruah presented a Bhajan before the audience. Su. Meera Didi’s in her speech highlighted the importance of Gita and the use of it in students lives and also gave feedback and appreciation to the participants. The programme ended with the distribution of prizes to the winners by the judges and Vice Principals of our school.

Mahabhaskara Vijnan Pradarshani, 2018 
(21st and 22ndDecember, 2018) 

 With the idea to promote young scientists and to satisfy their hunger for knowledge, the 12 non science teaching Vidyalaya faculty and the 102 students joined hands to organize a Science and Mathematics Exhibition on 21stand 22nd December, 2018 where they presented concepts by “learning by doing”. It was held in the assembly hall of the Vidyalaya and was formally inaugurated by Dr. Jitu Buragohain, Principal, Dibru College, Dibrugarh. We began the day in good faith with our daily prayer where all the students and teachers joined together. Our Vice Principal, Sri R.M.Thakre and few teachers accompanied the Chief Guest to inspect the various Mathematics and Science Models exhibited by our students of Classes VI to IX. A total of 53 Science experiments and 120 Mathematics models were presented by the students. To enlist a few, there were working models of DC Fan, Magical Straw, Submarine and other Physics and Chemistry experiments and Mathematics models based on written works by team experts by Jnana Prabhodini. After all, it was a great day for the students of VKV Dibrugarh as they could showcase their skills, know and learn more about the wonders of Science and Mathematics. Vice Principal, Sri R.M.Thakre Sir welcomed the Chief Guest. In his welcome address, he highlighted the importance of holding such exhibitions for imbibing scientific temper among the students. He also mentioned that this was an event which offered an opportunity to our students to put into practice what they have learnt in classrooms. A group of students performed a geet which added to the fair. The Chief Guest, Dr. Jitu Buragohain spoke a few words of appreciation which encouraged the students. He also spoke of the lives of some great scientists and their works which motivated the students. Sri B. Kamalakant Sir, Domain Officer (Academic Co-ordinator), VKSPV, Guwahati and Dr. Kunjalata Deori, VMC Member, VKV Dibrugarh also graced the occasion by their presence and blessed the students. Finally, the welcome programme was concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Kum. Megha Mordani, teacher, VKV Dibrugarh. On 22nd December, 2018, day 2 of the exhibition, parents and students from various schools visited the exhibition and made the event an overwhelming success.


Aryabhatta Anushandantamak Vijnan Prakalpa, 2018 
(21st and 22ndDecember, 2018) 

 The AAVP programme at VKV Dibrugarh cluster with the participation of 5 VKVs and 72 participants started their final presentation on 22ndDecember, 2018 in the presence of 6 judges of different science disciplines. The presentation was conducted at two levels - senior XI & XI and junior VI to VIII respectively. The inauguration programme was organized at the Vidyalaya’s Sanskriti Sabhagriha along with the 6 judges Dr. Anupal Baruah, Asst. Professor, Dept. of Chemistry, Dibrugarh University, Sri Pranab Paul, Asst. Professor, Dept. of Botany, Dibru College, Dibrugarh, Sri Rajesh Shah, Asst. Professor, Dept. of Zoology, DHSK College, Dibrugarh, Sri Gouree Shankar Das, Asst. Professor, Dept. of Physics, Dibrugarh University, Dr. P.K. Saikia, Associate Professor, Dept. of Physics, Dibrugarh University, Dr. Dipankoj Gogoi, Associate Professor, Dept. of Chemistry, DHSK College, Dibrugarh, two mentors from Jnana Prabhodini Sri Abhijit Atmaram Kapre, Retd. Commander, Indian Navy, Presently Centre In-charge, Jnana Prabhodini and Sri Prashant Pandurang Divekar, Centre In-charge, Jnana Prabhodini, Sri B. Kamalakant, Domain Officer (Academic Co-ordinator), VKSPV, Guwahati and Sri B.M.Naidu, Director, SKV, Dibrugarh. In the Valedictory function on 22nd December, 2018, Dr. H. K. Das, Asst. Director, ICMR, Dibrugarh graced the occasion as Chief Guest. The two mentors of the programme from Jnana Prabhodini attended both the inaugural and valedictory function. Speaking on the occasion, Sri Divekarji motivated the students stating that activities and experiments like AAVP can model their lifelong mission. He also emphasized on a need based approach to work and make it relevant to the present society. The chief guests of the Valedictory function. Dr. H.K.Das asserted that the techniques used in modeling AAVP are same in higher level. He credited teachers and focused on the importance of motivation and positively to make such programmes successful.

Independence Day Celebration
15th August, 2018


The 72nd Independence Day was celebrated in the Vidyalaya with mirth and gaiety. Every year on 15th August we celebrate our freedom. As we celebrate independence, we also celebrate the rich Indian culture and tradition. 65 Staff along with 393 Students from Class KG to XII and 253 parents attended the tri-colour hoisting. Smt. Pranoti Roy, RAO, VKSPV, Ghy and Principal, VKV Baragolai was the guest of the programme. She unfurled the tri-colour at 8am in the presence of the Vice Principals, Sri R.M.Thakre and Sri Shasanka Roy. 


Smt. Pranoti didi in her speech highlighted the contribution of the martyrs of the past and asked the present generation, our students to contribute in man - making nation – building in the future, following ideals of Swami Vivekananda. 

Vice Principal, Sri R. M. Thakre in his speech urged the students to value the freedom as we have secured it after the sacrifices of many. A team of Maruti Suzuki NEXA, Dibrugarh Branch participated and contributed in the celebration. The showroom Manager of Maruti Suzuki Nexa, Dibrugarh, talking to one of the teacher in the Vidyalaya said that the objective behind joining the Independence Day celebration with VKV Dibrugarh is that it is the only school of the locality which has maintained to nurture nationalistic values in the face of materialistic culture. 
The Vice Principal, Shasanka Sir thanked the parents for their encouraging presence.
Various competitions such as Art, Speech, Slogan, Debate and Essay writing are organized at different levels for the students of primary, secondary and senior secondary. 
A house wise Kabaddi Competition was also organized for the students. A friendly Football match was also played between the staff and the students.
