Universal Brotherhood Day-2014

Universal Brotherhood day was celebrated in Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Dibrugarh on 11th September 2014, to commemorate the world famous speech delivered by Swami Vivekananda on 11th September 1893, at Chicago in The World Parliament of Religions. The programme started with Mangalacharan followed by welcome speech by the Principal of the school, Sri Ravindranath D. Savdeykar. It was followed by a Patriotic Song performed by the students of Class VI to IX which was followed by the Mock speech of Swami Vivekananda which he had addressed in the famous World Parliament of Religion in 1893.

The programme was graced by the Principal of DHSK Commerce College, Dibrugarh, Dr. Khanindra Mishra Bhagawati as the Chief Guest highlighted that the idea behind celebrating the function was to spread the message of Universal Brotherhood. He also reiterated that Universal Brotherhood which Swamiji suggested in 1893 is even relevant even today. Dr. Meenakshi Barve, Retd. Director School of Education, YCMO university Nasik was present in the occasion  as Guest of Honour.

She highlighted the importance of youth in Man Making and Nation Building by saying that one should bear the responsibility of the work he or she has done. Dashavtaar Nritya, Patriotic Song, Jhumur Nritya, Creative Dance and Surya Namaskar were the highlight of the programme. Smt. Hironmoyee Das,  in-charge of the Primary section delivered the Vote of Thanks. The programme concluded with Shanti Mantra.

JANMASTAMI CELEBRATION AT VKV, DIBRUGARH

Janmastami was celebrated with great enthusiasm at Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Dibrugarh on Monday 18th August ,2014 beginning with the Welcome address and stating the purpose of the celebration by the Principal of the school, Shri Ravindrath Savdeykar Ji. The Significance of the celebration was narrated by one of the teacher of the school, Smt. Rita Dowerah. Kumari Swastika Sharma, a student of the school performed a Bhajan on the Lyrics ‘Shyam Rang Ranga De’. A Dance Drama ‘Bakrasura Badh’ depicting events from Krishna’s life was also performed by the students of the school .

A melodious and mind - pleasing  ‘Janmastami Naam’ and ‘Nagara Naam’ were hummed by the middle school students.

The toddlers  presented a fabulous and outstanding creative performance on the song ‘Krishna Tumhari’ and ‘Gopala Gopala’. Students also performed Krishna Bhajan. The programme concluded with Shanti Mantra and Kendra Parthana.

Independence Day -2014

Attending Jana Gana Mana 
On August 15, the 68th Independence Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm in our school. At 8 am, we all assembled in the Assembly hall and the flag was hoisted by our honourable Principal, followed by National Anthem and Principal’s inspiring speech. Patriotic Song  ’Jai Jai Bharat’ and Action Song were performed by our students.

Then, the March Past and thundering “ Band Display” (by our students) followed the programme. The Programme ended with the Vote of Thanks By Vice Principal. A large gathering of parents was there on the occasion.

Teacher Orientation Camp

A Teacher Orientation Camp(Subject - Mathematics) organized by Vivekananda Kendra Siksha Prasar Vibhag (VKSPV) at VKV Dibrugarh from 2nd  August to 4th August, 2014.

Nearly 42 Participants from different VKV’s joined and enthusiastically completed the camp under the guidance of Sri P.K. Chaurasia, one of the NCERT academician. Another resource person Sri Vasant Barve, Retired Principal of Pune Engineering College also was with us to train the participants on GeoGebra , a software which is a combination of Geometry and Algebra.

A day before Raksha Bandhan i.e. on 9th August 2014, our school students celebrated Raksha Bandhan by tying rakhi to various people. Teachers along with students went to different places like Hospitals, Medical college , Banks, Ashrams etc.

RakshaBandhan was observed in the school in the morning assembly on 11th August 2014. Students tied rakhi each other to strengthen the bond of sharing and caring between brothers and sisters. The Principal of the school spoke on the occasion emphasizing the importance of the festival, how it is celebrated since 4000 years . He also highlighted the fact that  Raksha bandhan is celebrated all over India in the same tradition since ages.
